MRS. ADA FARTHING OF AVA DIES; RITES SET

Mrs. Ada Farthing, 83, Ava, died in St. Andrew’s Hospital, in Murphysboro, Saturday after an illness of two weeks.

She was born in Jackson County, February 17, 1876. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Carol Pierson.

Mrs. Farthing was married in 1893 to Will Crisler who died in 1919. She married Samuel Farthing in 1932. He died in 1940.

She leaves daughters Mrs. Albert McClure, Ava; Mrs. Irene Guy, Ava; son John Crisler, Ava; sisters, Mrs. Telitha Griffin, Ava; Mrs. Lydia Miller, Joliet; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the Wilson Funeral Home at Ava where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery, south of Ava.
