Daughter of Moreland Waters and Catherine Love. Married first to Jacob Seibert, soldier who died of typhoid fever during the Civil War. Married Robert J. Vaughn about 1868.

Obituary:
Mrs. Mary E. Vaughan died at her home on Pennsylvania Avenue, Mount Union, Pa., at 7 o'clock on Sunday morning, August 6, 1905, after an illness of but five days. She was aged 67 years and 11 days. Mrs. Vaughan's maiden name was Mary E. Waters and she was born near Mount Union. She was joined in marriage with William Lynn Seibert [sic], of Shade Gap, October 3, 1861, who died in the South from typhoid fever while serving his country during the civil war. Mrs. Seibert was later joined in marriage to Robert Vaughan, of Shade Gap, who survives, also the following children: W.L. Seibert, of Pitcairn; R.M. Seibert, of Mt. Jewett; Mrs. F.P. Latherow, Mt. Union; Mrs. D.D. Pierce, of Kueuters, St. Lawrence county, N.Y.; J.W. Vaughan, of Kushequa, McKean county, Pa.; T.J. Vaughan and J.M. Vaughan, of Pitcairn, Pa. Mrs. Vaughan had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for more than forty years, and was a devout Christian woman. She with her husband had resided in Mt. Union for the past three years, and she was well liked by all who had become acquainted with her. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Geo E. King in the M.E. church on Tuesday at 2 o'clock p.m. in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends. Interment was made in Odd Fellow's cemetery. Mr. Vaughan, together with the sons, daughters and other relatives have the sympathy of the people of our town in their sad loss of a kind companion and mother and relative.
