Canadian statesman. A native of Saint-Prosper (Québec), he studied at the college of Arthabaska and took an advanced training course in English in the United States in 1885 and 1886. He worked first as a tradesman in Saint-Narcisse. Then he settled in Shawinigan in 1900 and exploited there a brickyard during one year. He owned a general store in this locality, from 1901 to 1907. After 1907, he became involved in realty transactions. Worked in the field of the real transactions since 1907. He served as Mayor of Saint-Narcisse, from 1896 to 1899 and as President of the Shawinigan School Board, from 1911 to 1915. In 1913, he was elected Mayor of Shawinigan Falls and kept that post until 1915, and again in 1917 and 1918. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly as the Liberal representative for Saint-Maurice in 1927. He was re-elected in 1931. He was defeated in 1935. In 1940, as an Independant Liberal candidate, he tried unsuccessfully to get elected to the House of Commons in the riding of Saint-Maurice-Laflèche. He passed away in Shawinigan.
