In 1890, the family moved to Portsmouth, Ohio and it was there that Oella met Edgar Lowman, the son of David & Malinda Lowman. Edgar was the Secretary of the YMCA in Portsmouth and belonged to the Church that Oella's father was serving. Edgar and Oella were married in Oct. 3, 1895 in Portsmouth by her father. They had 2 daughters, Lucy and Oella. Edgar died in 1904, leaving Oella a young widow with 2 small children to care for so the small family moved to her parents home in Circleville, Ohio.
