Alliene Strubel, 80, passed away Feb. 20, 2012. Survived by her husband of 62 years, Rudy Strubel; children, Diana Sterling of Castle Rock, Debbie (Kim) Giordano of Pueblo, Mark (Karen) Strubel of Evergreen; brothers, Bob (Joyce) Hendrex of Greeley, Layman (Karen) Hendrex of Boerne, Texas, William (Karen) Lawrence of Craig; sister-in-law, Joyce (Bill) Kocman of Pueblo; brother-in-law, Frank (Anne Marie) Strubel of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Phil Sterling, Jeff Sterling, Glenn Sterling, Lindsey Waymire, Amanda Shumard, Michele Ciardullo, Chris Strubel, Jeff, Scott and Kirsti Giordano, Braden and Sabrina Proc; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Alliene was born to Earl and Mabel Hendrex on Feb. 15, 1932, and was a lifetime Pueblo resident. Alliene was an avid sports fan, especially football and basketball. She also enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing. Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Johnson and his staff, Rocky Mountain Cancer Center and Parkview Medical Center nurses at Three Southwest. There will be a private viewing only. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial Mass, 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church, 23 Starling Drive, with the Rev. Father Ben Bacino as celebrant.
