Thank you to Find A Grave contributor who provided the following information as well as the photograph of the grave marker:

Helen attended Trinity Baptist Church in Benkelman, Nebraska for a number of years when she lived in Bird City. She loved chihuahuas. She had a fern for over 20 years and it grew to outlandish size. She was closest to her half-sister, Ruth.

Married several times.

Married George Strickland 27 May 1938 in Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia. She moved to Columbus, Muscogee, GA sometime between 1935 and the 1940 U.S. Census because it listed them in Columbus in 1940, but living in Gulfport in 1935. They had one son, Alan (ID# 125666589 ; edit request sent to link them). Helen divorced George at some point. She was still living in Columbus in 1953, but married Renner Forbes in Gulfport in 1959. He later adopted Alan.

Incorrectly listed as Helen Kring (with father incorrectly being Cora's second husband, Charles Kring) on numerous Ancestry family trees.

Parents: Will Jordan (unable to locate Will's death information and too many Will Jordan possibilities on Find-A-Grave, continuing to research) and Cora Bush Jordan Kring.

Siblings include Eleanor K. Kring Johnson, Cyril Kring (died 2008, currently burial location unavailable, will update when found), Iva Ruth Kring Smith Hartman, Owen D. Kring, and Vera Ione Kring Prinz.

I will link to those family members who are listed on Find-A-Grave as I find them.

Born and raised in Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi. Listed on the 1930 US Census living in Gulfport. She moved to Columbus, Georgia for many years before moving back to Gulfport. Later moved to Nederland, Colorado and then to Bird City, Kansas. After Renner was moved to Colorado for long-term care, she worked and lived in the Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Denver areas until her death.

Helen appears to be buried in Plot 4, Lot 8, Grave 4.

Obit published in the Gazette (Colorado Springs, Colorado) on Wednesday, December 25, 1996, page 6.

Helen Grace (Jordan) Forbes, 79, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Dec. 22, 1996, in Denver. She had worked at Medalion West Retirement Home in Colorado Springs.

Services will be Thursday in Bird City, Kansas. Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Forbes was born July 3, 1917, to William and Cora (Bush) Jordan.

She was married Sept. 22, 1959, in Gulfport, Miss., to Renner Forbes, who survives (he died in 2000 and is buried next to her).

She is also survived by two sons (Alan died in 2009; the other son may have also passed on, unable to verify); a step-daughter; a brother (Cyril died in 2008); three sisters (all since deceased - Vera Ione Kring Prinz (adding link as they shared different parents Vera was the daughter of Charles and Helen was the daughter of Cora), Eleanor Kring Johnson, and Iva Ruth Kring Hartman), including Eleanor Johnson of Colorado Springs (died 2009); and two grandchildren.
