He was born August 3, 1934. in Hepzibah, the son of the late Carl Preston White and Maccie Ferrell White.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Sendling White, whom he married May 13, 1960.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandra Mitchell and husband, Larry and Robin Shreves and husband, Lee; one son, Charles “Chuck” White and companion, Tina Mayfield; three grandsons, Nathan Mitchell, Joshua Mayfield and Tyler Shreves; one great-granddaughter, Faith Mitchell; one brother, Carl David White and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lee Freshour.
He was employed as a rip saw operator for Clarksburg Casket Co. and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Full Gospel Worship Center Church of Clarksburg.
Family and friends will be received at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike Street, Shinnston, WV, from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, where services will be held Friday, February 17, 2012, at 1 p.m. with the Pastor Timothy Maxwell officiating. Entombment will follow in the Shinnston Masonic Mausoleum.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Harrison County Honor Guard.
