Deacon Cecil Adams Jr., 62, of Deerwood, passed away at his home on Friday, April 23, 2010. Services for Cecil will be Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Internment will be at Bay Lake Township Cemetery. Lunch will follow service at the Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room.

Cecil was born on Nov. 2, 1947, to Cecil and Pearl (Dechene) Adams in Minneapolis. Cecil participated in Boy Scouts and obtained the highest rank of Eagle Scout. After high school Cecil went on to St. John's and was ordained as a deacon in 1979. He worked for 40 years as a facilities manager for Litho Technical Services, while living in Elk River. He moved to Bay Lake six years ago and enjoyed peace and quiet on his pontoon boat. He also loved snowmobiling.

Cecil was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl. He is survived by his father, Cecil Sr.; sisters, Cathleen (Dennis) Twistol, of McGregor, Minn., and Cheryl (Kevin) Cook, of Brainerd, Minn.; and one niece, two nephews and two great-nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
