Jsmes was born in Lufkin, Texas on March 14, 1932 to the late Earl and Beulah B. Davidson Hendry.
He was retired from the former Gulf Supply Company of Beaumont. He served his country in the US Army until May 1955.
James was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and wood worker. He loved to read and was a history buff.
James graduated from Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches with a BA Degree.
James is survived by his wife Barbara J. Hendry, his son James Lee Hendry of San Antonio, Texas, his daughter Debora Louise Fisher and her husband Perry of Cypress, Texas, his granddaughter Nicole Jean Hendry of Austin, Texas, his brothers, Glenn, Leon and Melvin Hendry and his wife Alma all of Lufkin, Texas, his brother-in-law Herman H. Pague Sr of Ovett, Mississippi, along with numerous nieces and nephews and his two granddogs Lacey and Jake of Cypress, Texas.
