Mrs. Margaret Beck, 81, died Thursday afternoon, March 18, 1954, at the Coffeyville Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Tuesday. She had been in failing health for 20 years and seriously ill the last week.

Mrs. Beck was born Feb. 28, 1873, at Monmouth, Kansas, in Crawford County. She came to Labette County with her parents, the late George W. and Melissa M. Cunningham, when a small child, where she lived until she went to Coffeyville to live with her daughter, Mrs. George L. Fowler, about 20 years ago.

She was married on September 28, 1889 to Mr. Beck in Oswego. He died April 23, 1927. During most of their married life they lived on R. 3, Oswego. She was a member of the Lilia Camp No. 83 Royal Neighbors. In her early years she was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. George (Bethel) Fowler, Mrs. Wilbur (Mildred) Wellington, Mrs. Geo. (Pauline) Holmes, Coffeyville; Mrs. Sam (Maude) Ohles and Mrs. Clifford (May) Hanigan, Mrs. Alice Fullhart, Oswego; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Youngblood, Oswego; Mrs. Goldia Brown, Parsons; and Mrs. Jim Murphy, Hallowell; three brothers, Elmer, Harve and Edward Cunningham, all of Oswego, 30 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, George and Clarence, a daughter, Irene, her husband, Thomas Edward Beck, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at the Ford Funeral Home in Coffeyville, conducted by Rev. John M. McBain, pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, southwest of Oswego.

Casketbearers were James L. Duffy, Archie Armstrong, Walter C. Nichols, Ed Foland, LeRoy Perkins and Melvin Sands.
