Funeral services for Charles Leroy Crockett, 60, who died at the home of Mrs. John Boyd near Eustace on Monday were held Tuesday with burial following at Payne Springs. Conducting the services were Rev. J.F. Lockered, pastor of the Methodist Church of Eustace, assisted by Rev. C.R. Williford, Baptist minister, and Mrs. Agnes Sorrell of Payne Springs.
Pallbearers were Johnnie Lee Boyd, Dick Sandeford, Vernon Boyd, Felton Gandy, William Robinson and Richard Freed.
Deceased was born November 26, 1877. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Crockett and had been a resident of this section most of his life. He joined the Methodist church early in life and served for a time as steward in the church.
He is survived by four sisters and three brothers. The sisters are Mrs. W.N. Lynn of Dallas, Mrs. P.E. Donley of Wichita Falls, Mrs. Frank Hall of Memphis and Mrs. John Boyd of Mabank, route 2; the brothers are J.W. Crockett of Fort Smith, Arkansas; W.R. Crockett of Bellview and T.A. Crockett of McLean, Texas. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
