● 1930 US Federal Census. In 1930, Ruth was living with her parents, Joseph and Lillie, on Kirksville Road in Stanford, Monroe County, Indiana. She was just a baby of two years old. At the time of the Census she was the youngest of ten children. Her sister, Thelma, was living with her grandparents, probably to help them.
● 1940 US Federal Census. Ruth Alice was a 12 year old 4th grade student in 1940. She was living with her parents on Beard Road in Monroe County, Indiana. She was the fifth child still living at home, with three younger siblings after her.
● 1950 US Federal Census. Ruth Alice married Elbert Hall on June 25, 1947, and in the 1950 Census she was 22 years old. She and her husband were living on Paynetown Road in Salt Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana. They had two children, Ivan, age 2, and Irvin, age 1. Elbert worked for an insulation company.
