Gay L. Sailer died peacefully surrounded by her family at the Hospice Care Center, Louisville. She was 55. Gay was born on November 16, 1953 in Oberlin, Kansas to Donald H. Lemmon and Ruth L. Allender Lemmon. The Lemmon family moved to Berthoud in 1957. Gay graduated from Berthoud High School in 1971. She had a special interest in horses, raising, training and riding them on the family farm. She competed as a professional barrel racer in 4-H rodeos for a number of years while growing up. On October 5, 1974, she married Brian Sailer in Berthoud. Gay has made her family a priority the past number of years, especially watching her kid's soccer and baseball games. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her many dear friends. Gay worked as a legal secretary in Boulder for a number of years. She also participated in professional organizations in the area, related to her field. More recently she had been associated with the Nor-Mar Corporations, of Boulder. Preceding her in death are her parents. Surviving are her husband of Longmont; a son Corey Sailer of Longmont, a daughter Amy Sailer of Longmont; a sister Donna Hunter and her husband John of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; and a brother Rod Lemmon and his wife Barbara of Windsor and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 12 at the Howe Community Room. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 13 at the LifeBridge Christian Church, with Steve Grant officiating. A cremation will follow services. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, c/o Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont, CO 80501.
