Mr. Kea was one of the most famous county commissioners this county ever had. A number of years ago he served on the board, and it was through his efforts, to a large extent, that the basis for the present system of improved roads was laid in Laurens County.
He was a farmer all his life, but had lived in Dublin 18 years, coming to Laurens County from Emanuel County more than 60 years ago.
He was 79 years of age at the time of his death. Surviving are his wife and five children.
He was a Confederate veteran, having served through the war of the 60's.
