Kenneth E. Myers Dec. 22, 1930-Feb. 3, 2012
Kenneth E. Myers, age 81, of Monroe, MI. passed away at 12:20 am February 3, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born December 22, 1930 in Monroe to Otto P. and Florence (Wilson) Myers Sr.; he attended Christiancy Elementary School and graduated from Monroe High School in 1948. He was in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1948-1952. He married Elizabeth J. Moldovan October 28, 1950 in Monroe.
Ken was employed with the City of Monroe Police Department form 1956-1962 and GM Hydromantic Powertrain for 25 years, retiring in 1987.
Ken enjoyed hunting, golfing, riding motorcycles and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and their sporting events. He was a past member of Monroe Eagles.
Ken is survived by his wife Elizabeth; children, Steve (Cristy) of Carleton, Deborah (Doug) Denno of Temperance and Mary (Charles) Parks of Hillman, MI.; siblings, Otto P. (Yolanda) Myers Jr. of Monroe, Wanda (Larry) Ruettinger of Newport, Carol Collins of Monroe and Leona Myers of Monroe; grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh) McClure, Douglas Denno, Abby (Bronson) White, Chad (Alissa) Myers and Chelsey Myers; 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Norman, Ronald, Betty Brooks and Dorothy
Cassidy; and granddaughter Mary Amber Faith Grahl.
Family will receive friends from 1-8pm Sunday February 5th at the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes 203 E. Elm Ave. Monroe, MI. (734 241 5225), where services will be held at 11am Monday February 6th, interment following at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
