Curtis was the son of David Bennett and Mary Coe. He Married Lucetta Macy on October 07, 1862 in Livingston County Illinois. He was the father of 10 children. His children with second wife Lucetta Macy were Alma Lucetta Bennet, Ora Allena Bennett, Ora Maria Bennett, Leroy Macy Bennett, Eula Sophronia Bennett, Lillian Rachel Bennett, and Frank Myer Bennett He had 3 children with first wife Alma Amanda Coe they were Lynn Curtis Bennett, Emily C Bennett and Mary Jane Bennett.
