John was first and foremost a family man who adored his wife and children.
He served his country during WORLD WAR II and KOREA in the Navy. When he returned, John went to work for Mobil Oil. He enjoyed camping, cooking, deep frying foods, and could be found with the latest kitchen "gadget" in his arsenal.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth(nee Colgan); loving father of Jeanne (Joseph III) Yoroshko, Kim(Steve)Yoroshko, and Robert(Gina)Abel and the late John Abel, Jr.(Yvette); adoring grandfather of Jackie, Jessica, Tina, Ruthie and the late Joey; great-grandfather of Marissa; dear brother of Donald(Bette), and Betty Layton; special uncle to Denise Young, and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass at 11 a. m. in Holy Angels Parish at St. Patrick's RC Church, 64 Cooper St., Woodbury, NJ Interment will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery, 505 W. Browning Rd., Bellmawr, NJ.
