Survivors: wife, Marie M.; sons, Mike of Sylvia, Richard D. of Appomattox, Va.; daughters, Jerry Samms, Marilee Gatewood, both of Sylvia, Kathy Moffett of Pretty Prairie; sister, Pauline Stafford of Lemon Grove, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two step great-grandchildren. Memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
