Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for LaVera V. Schramel, age 85, of St. Cloud, who passed away April 2, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Friday (TODAY), April 4, 2008 and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. The VFW Post 4847 Auxiliary ritual will be at 4 p.m. followed by Legion of Mary at 4:30 p.m., Parish Prayers at 5 p.m. and Christian Women at 5:30 p.m. on Friday on Friday at the funeral home.

LaVera was born January 18, 1923 in Spring Hill, MN to Hubert and Katie (Schoenberg) Athmann. She married Michael J. Schramel on January 20, 1942 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill. They lived in St. Cloud area for most of their married life. She was a Gold Star Mother, and a member of VFW Post 4847 Auxiliary, St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Christian Women and Legion of Mary.

LaVera loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved baking, crocheting and gardening.

LaVera is survived by 6 children:

Karen (Norbert) Winter of St. Louis Park,
Gene (Carla) Schramel of Clear Lake,
Margaret (Mike) Gohman of St. Cloud,
Anna (Larry) Schultz of St. Cloud,
Marion Schramel of St. Cloud and
Michael (Jill) Schramel of St. Cloud, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

LaVera's surviving brothers and sistersinclude Hortense Walz of Spring Hill, Ann (Art) Loehr of Spring Hill, Eldred (Mary Ann) Athmann of St. Cloud, John (Kay) Athmann of St. Cloud, Norman (Marlene) Athmann of Paynesville and Vernon (Donna) Athmann of Sauk Centre.

Preceding her in death were her parents Hubert Athmann (1938) and Katie Athmann (1985), son Kenneth (1967), daughter Elizabeth (1957), grandson Corey Schultz (1993) and 3 infant Athmann brothers: Leander (1927), Anthony (1929) and Joseph (1932)
