When she died on 17 September, 1928, she was living in Orlando, Florida, with her daughter Ivey and nephew/son-in-law Day Napier. Ivey & Day thought they were going to move to Tampa, so they had Dollie's body transported to Myrtle Hille Memorial Park Cemetery in Tampa, so that Ivey would be close to the grave. Ivey & Day never moved to Tampa, but moved to Louisville instead. Dollie's sister Rebecca Barnett Napier (Day's mother and Ivey's aunt) was buried at the family plot in Jeffersontown near Louisville. (Ivey was also buried there, but without a marker.) To this day, nearly 100 years later, not a single Stamps has ever visited Dollie's grave in Tampa, and we're not sure there's even a marker (at Myrtle Hill in Tampa).
