First National Bank Head Dies at
Oklahoma City Today of Long Illness
F. H. Crow, president of the First National Bank here for 15 years, died in St. Anthony's hospital at Oklahoma City today of a lingering illness that had impaired his health for three years. He was 71 years of age. Funeral arrangements were incomplete this afternoon pending word from relatives and the arrival of his body from Oklahoma City. They will be announced by the Kern & Schneider Funeral home. Death came at 11:30 this morning. Friends here said that all members of his immediate family were at Mr. Crow's bedside when he passed away.
Been There 2 Weeks
He had gone to Oklahoma City about two weeks ago to receive treatments for the ailment which had afflicted him for three years. He was intending to receive only a few treatments and then return to Clinton, friends said. But his condition became worse and it became necessary that he remain in the hospital. After a relapse just a few days ago, his condition was described as critical and he failed to rally. Mr. Crow was conscious almost to the end.
In Cattle Business
Mr. Crow first came to Oklahoma from Texas shortly after the turn of the century, friends said,making his home in Purcell, Oklahoma. He moved to Beaver, Oklahoma several years later, coming to this section about 1905 to engage in the cattle business.
An early day western Oklahoma cattle buyer, Mr. Crow first became associated in the banking business when he purchased the First State Bank at Leedy, Oklahoma about 1908. After about 10 years with the Leedy Institution, he disposed of his interests in that bank to purchase an interest in the First National Bank at Clinton in 1918, becoming vice-president. Two years later, Mr. Crow was named to the Presidency, a position he held continuously until the summer of 1934, when his health forced him to sell his interest and retire. But his health apparently became improved and in early March of this year he returned to the First National as president. He had been on the job until going to Oklahoma City two weeks ago.
Mr. Crow was a successful businessman, known throughout the section. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a thirty-second degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Permelia Eady (Ward)"Babe" Crow; and six children: Francis Marion; Alfred Cornelius; Herbert; Mrs. Delpha Oral Nichols (Mahala Lee Crow); Mrs. George Grover Zahn (Vinnie Pearl Crow) all of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Dewey Otis Murray (Mabel "Mab" Crow)
of Fargo, Oklahoma.
He also is survived by six grandchildren: George Grover Zahn Jr.; Katherine Lee Zahn; Rowena Pearl Murray; Rita Mab Nichols; Ella Babe Nichols; and Robert Crow Nichols.

Impressive funeral rites were conducted this afternoon from the First Baptist church for F. H. Crow,
pioneer Clinton banker, who passed away at Oklahoma City Tuesday. Dr. W. O. Leach, pastor of the First Baptist church, conducted the last rites for the prominent Clinton
citizen who had served in executive capacity with the First National bank here for over 15 years.
Interment was made in the Clinton cemetery under the direction of the Kern and Schneider Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers included: G. G. Hustutler, J. D. Simpson, Joe Winters, C. W. Lowry, E. H. Hart,
A.T. Wheeler, J. S. Crosswhite, and Kiah Hodges.
Honorary pallbearers were: W. G. Ball, E. L. Mitchell, J. L. Avant, and Ed ?.

Names on the headstone marker are reversed. This was discovered when Mrs. Babe Crow died and there was already a casket in her place.
