TRAGIC DEATH OF LITTLE BOY
Frank Kenneth Worsham, Aged 6, Falls into a Well While Measuring Depth of Water
Frank Kenneth Worsham, aged six years, son of Mrs Mattie Worsham of Powell's Station, met death when he fell into a deep well Tuesday afternoon, probably about three o'clock. The last one to see the little fellow alive was his little sister, Helen, four years of age. She hurried to report to her mother that Frank had fallen into the well, but before assistance could be summoned to rescue him, his life was extinct. Some time later the child's body was taken from the well and it was discovered that a hole had been crushed in his head when he fell, striking the stone walls of the deep well. The well contained about ten feet of water and it was some distance down to the surface of the water.
The funeral over the remains was conducted Wednesday and interment was in the Green Hill cemetery. Rev Mr Weaver officiated.
Helen, the little sister of the dead child, explained that her brother was standing on the platform at the well holding a rope with whichhe was attempting to measure the depth of the water in the well, when he accidentally fell to his death.
The child is survived by his mother and the following brothers and sisters, Charles, Raymond and WL Worsham, Mrs Mary Bradley and Misses Sadie and Helen and Elva Worsham.
