Funeral services for Mrs. Aloysius (Susan) Bohlke were held Monday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. Rt. Rev Msgr. Schultes officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Bohlke died Friday 5-21-1971 at her home in Remsen. She had been in failing health for some time but her death was unexpected. She was 72 years old.
Susan Lanners Bohlke was born 5-28-1898 at Salem, South Dakota, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lanners. Her marriage to Aloysius Bohlke took place October 7, 1915 at Ft. Dodge, Iowa. They had lived on a farm near Remsen before moving to town in 1945.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Mary's parish.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Cyrilla) Loutsch of Marcus, Iowa; five grandchildren; one brother, Henry Lanners of Brandon, Minn.; two sisters; Mrs. William Laddusaw of Shakopee, Minn.; and Mrs. Sherman Laddusaw of La Puente, Calif.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Joe Crowley of Slayton, Minn., and Mrs. John Flynn of ft. Dodge, Iowa; and two step-sisters, Mrs. Fred Raetz of Remsen, and Mrs. Joe Deiterman of Pipestone, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, one son in infancy, two sisters and a son, Milo, who died a week prior on May 14, 1971.
Pallbearers were Clayton Bohlke, Floyd Bohlke, Gilbert Wagner, Gilbert Loesche, Leroy Bunkers and Richard Bohlke. The Fisch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
