Mrs. Edna Southernwood, 69, of 1734 Arlington Drive, died at 5:35 a.m. Monday in a local hospital after a sudden illness.
A native of Fayette County, she was reared and educated in Dubina. She lived in LaGrange, Texas before moving to Corpus Christi 34 years ago.
She was a member of the Alter Society and The Sewing Club of Christ the King Church and was a 50 year member of the K.J.Z.T. Lodge of Dubina, Texas.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Church. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Southernwood; two daughters Miss Martha Jo Southernwood and Mrs. Mary Sue Glorfield, all of Corpus Christi; a son, Larry Southernwood, Houston; six sisters, Mrs. Ann Heck, Houston, Mrs Lilly Rainosek, Mrs. Agnes Lidiak, Mrs. Mary Bohac, Mrs. Willie Mae Holub, Mrs. Evelyn Mazoch all of Weimer, Texas; ten grandchildren.
