Job Reed's parents are Abraham Reed and Naomi Blocksom. Job Reed married Nancy Carey on March 1, 1830 in Sussex County, Delaware. Of this couple, five children were born - Elizabeth Reed Brown, James Sidney Reed, Hettie Jane Reed(died young), William R. Reed, amd Nancy Ann Reed Ornbaum.

Job Reed returned from Marion County, Ohio to Sussex County, Delaware at his father's death in 1838. (Abraham Reed's will was dated February 20, 1838 and will was probated on April 30, 1838.

Job Reed died sometime between 1870 - 1878. Job Reed was in the 1870 Sussex County Delaware census and not on the 1880 census. Job Reed's sister Nancy Reed died in 1878 and Job Reed was not included in Nancy Reed's probate.

4 Jan 1812. Sussex Co., DE., Deeds, Vol AL-34, pg 572. Abraham Reed from Jesse Dutton and Eunice, his wife, both of Broadkiln Hundred for 500 American Silver Dollars, a parcel of land in Broadkiln Hundred on the east side of a road leading from Clowes Mill to Georgetown containing 131 acres. Not recorded until 23 Jul 1820. (This land is in the Redden State Forest on the south side of County Road 565 and on the west side of County Road 423. Eunice Dutton is probably Eunice Reynolds daughter of Zachariah Reynolds and Nancy Pettyjohn and granddaughter of James Pettyjohn and Bridget Jones.) (This land sold to the Redden State Forest, Sussex Co., DE., on 27 Aug 1940, Sussex Co., DE., Deeds, Vol 327, pg 160, by Herbert A. and Andrew J. Pase.)

30 Apr 1838. Delaware Archives Vol A95, pg 19. Sussex Co., DE., Wills, Book I, fol 118. Abraham Reed wrote his will on 20 Feb 1838. He is of Broadkiln Hundred. Will probated on 30 Apr 1838. Heirs: wife, Neomi; sons, James, Job, Benjamin, Summerset, Peter; daughters, Mary, Nancy, Lydia, Margaret Willson wife of Zachariah Willson. Exec'rs, Neomi Reed, wife, and Peter Reed, son. Wit: Peter S. Parker and James A. Parker. (NOTE: Peter S. Parker married Hetty Blocksom, daughter of Richard Blocksom (1762-1822) and Sarah Chambers (d. 1805) and granddaughter of William Blocksom (d. 1783) and Eunice Dodd (1729-1829). An Aaron Blocksom/Bloxom, son of William Blocksom and Eunice Dodd, was a witness to the will of John Reed, will dated in 1824, and probated in 1838.)

Abraham and Naomi Reed are probably buried in the northeast portion of Redden State Forest in the family grave site near their home. There are no markers for them at that site, but there are markers for their son, Somerset and his wife, Mary Ann.

16 Mar 1861. Military Bounty Land Act of March 3, 1855, Land Warrant No. 98.051: Land orignally warranted to Peter Reed for his service in the War of 1812 in Capt Reed's Company. 160 acres located in Steele County, Minnesota, East 1/2 South West 1/4 & West 1/2 South East Quarter of Section No. 18 in Township No. 105 North of Range No. 21 West in the District of Lands subject to sale. This land being sold to William Wilson by James Reed, administrator of Peter Reed who died about 1 Jul 1860. Sale took place in Sussex Co., DE. Actual warrant is dated 16 Mar 1861.
