Second Lieutenant Bible was the co-pilot of U S Army Air Forces B-17G Flying Fortress #42-31547, serving with the 749th Bomb Squadron, 457th Bomb Group.

After departing Wendover Field, the B-17 suffered a structural failure during a snowstorm and crashed into the Cedar Mountains, about twelve miles southwest of Delle, Utah.

1st Lt. Hugh R Ashby, Pilot
2nd Lt. Clarence R McRae, Navigator
2nd Lt. John W Newman, Bombardier
T/Sgt. Joseph Barboza, Flight Engineer
S/Sgt. Robert A Timmons, Gunner

Husband of Helen Bible.

Son of Joseph G. & Margaret Ann (McCall) Bible.
