Nance - Yocum - In the Court-house on Wednesday, Judge Brown officiated at the marriage of Mr. Jacob Nance to Mrs. Elizabeth Yocum. Mrs. Yocum is a daughter of Mr. Monroe Smith, and is a number of years the senior of the groom.

Jacob Nance and Elizabeth Nance, Ex Parte, In Equity.
The petioners have this day filed their petition in the clerk's office of said court asking that said Elizabeth Nance be empowered to use, enjoy, sell and convey for her own benefit any property she may own or acquire, free from the debts or claims of her husband; to make contracts, sue and be sued as a single woman, trade in her own name and dispose of her property either by will or deed. It is further ordered that notice of said contract be published in the Interior Journal, a newspaper published in Stanford, Ky, for ten days.

Miss Delia Barkley died of consumption at her home with her aunt, Mrs. Jacob Nance, near Turnersville, a few days ago. She was buried beside her mother in Pulaski county.
James Barkley, a member of the 2d Kentucky Volunteers, under Capt. Duncan, came home to attend the funeral of his sister, Miss Delia, and is still here unable for camp duty.

Mrs. Elizabeth Nance, well and favorable known for years in the West End, passed in the great beyond from which none ever return, on the 24th, in the 61st year of her age and was buried in Buffalo cemetery Friday. She was a consistent member of the Turnersville Christian church at Turnersville. Her sons and friends desire to return thanks to their friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness and continuous aid to alleviate their suffering mother.
