Leonard L. Burns, 90, of Joaquin, passed away on January 19, 2012 at Many Health Care Nursing Home in Many, Louisiana. He was born on November 10, 1921 in Center to Rufus Lafayette Burns and Sallie Cogswell Burns. Mr. Burns served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired after many years of service as a rural letter carrier.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Luke Garrett and Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Harper's Chapel Cemetery in Hemphill.

He is survived by:
Wife, Rose Burns of Many, Louisiana

Sons:
Lynn Burns and wife, Cathy of Joaquin
Neal Burns and wife, Janet of McAllister, Oklahoma

Daughters:
Janie Newman and husband, Jerry of Joaquin
Jackie Simoneaux of Negreet, Louisiana

Grandchildren:
Jessica Gatlin, Christina Watson, Logan Burns, Lance Burns, Jennifer Cooper, Jason Newman, Jared Newman, Kyle Dempsey and Dylan Martin
