He was born near Asheville, NC and settled in Neosho, MO area with his parents in the late 1890's. He married Anna Campbell on July 22 1907 in Joplin MO. Mr. Fisher lived in Pittsburg, KS from 1923 to 1966. He was trained in the metal crafts in the days of active lead, zinc, and coal mining in the Joplin-Picher-Pittsburg area, and was a boiler foreman on submarine construction during World War I at the Bremerton, Wash., federal shipyard. He retired a boiler foreman for Kansas City Southern Railway. James & Anna Fisher celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July 1957.
