Singer. Lead singer of the 1960s pop group "The Casinos," who had a top 10 hit in 1967 with "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye." That hit placed the band in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 'One Hit Wonders' room. They followed that hit with the airplay "It's All Over Now" but the song never did approach the success they had with their first hit, and their popular apppeal began to fade in less than a year. Gene went on to a highly successful career as a record promoter and executive with MCA and Polydor/A&M Nashville. Gene who had been bed-ridden since October 2003, died from injuries he had sustained during a car accident.  (bio by: Noni)
