VIRGINIA BEACH - Hobert F. Ailstock, 86, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009. He was a native of West Virginia, son of the late William Preston and Annie Perkins Ailstock. He retired after 20 years from the U.S. Navy and 18 years at Norfolk Post Office. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Rosemary S. Ailstock and daughter, Sandra Lynn Ailstock. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Grace and husband Michael Rowe of Chesterfield, Va.; sons, Charles Ailstock and wife of Charleston, S.C., and Johnny Ailstock and wife of McMinnville, Ore.; two grandsons and one granddaughter; one brother, Robert Ailstock of Kalamazoo, Mich.; sisters, Joanna Kanipe and Alberta Kincaid, both of Gastonia, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 6, at 10 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The family asks that donations be made to Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 62345, Virginia Beach, VA 23466-9905.
