Brey, Raymond G.Raymond G. Brey, 89, Pittsville, died on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Pittsville, with Rev. Gary Markworth officiating. Burial will take place in Town of Richfield Cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at St. John's Lutheran Church. Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Raymond was born on March 11, 1926 in Marshfield to George and Emeline (Frantz) Brey. He attended Long School in the Town of Richfield and was a 1944 graduate of Pittsville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from February 7, 1951 until his honorable discharge on June 23, 1951. He married Adella M. Lokken on May 23, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Richfield. She died on May 14, 2005. Ray had been employed as a patrolman for the Wood County Highway Department for 38 years. He also bartended for many years in the Richfield - Arpin area and worked seasonally at Ocean Spray in Babcock. He was a meat cutter with his neighbors, Don and Shirley King. In his younger years he took pride in a well-kempt lawn and garden. He loved playing baseball and enjoyed playing cards and shaking dice. He is lovingly survived by his children, Karen (Hayden) Brey-Gabriel of Honolulu, Duane (Paula) Brey of Loyal and Darrell (Dawn) Brey of Wisconsin Rapids. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. He is further survived by a sister, Ellen (Marvin) Feldt of Beloit. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, 2 sons, Gary and Larry Brey, 2 grandsons, Trent and Derek Brey, a great granddaughter, Addelyne Jo Buelow, 3 sisters, Mabel O'Day, Bernice Saegert and Eileen Brey and 2 brothers, Paul and Carl "Bill" Brey and a brother in infancy, Edward Brey.
