Lester Thomas (L.T.) Harper, 63, husband of Patsy Thomas Harper, Route 2, Dandridge, Tennessee, died Wednesday, May 7, 1980, at the VA Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky, after an illness of several months. He was a native of Harrison County, Kentucky, a son of the late J.T. and Iva Martin Harper, of Havilandsville, a graduate of Sunrise High School, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Baptist Church. He was a driver for the Greyhound Bus Company, from which he retired in March 1979.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Byron B. (Ruth Davis) King. Besides his wife, he is survived by: two sons, Michael Thomas Harper, Knoxville, Tennessee, and David Allin Harper, Stockton, California; one daughter, Mrs. Sam (Alice Mae) Gross, Florence, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Michael Thomas Harper, Jr., John Gregory Harper, Bonnie Jean Harper and Rebecca Anne Harper, all of Lexington, Kentucky, Cheryl Lynn Harper, Stockton, California, and twin grandsons, Douglas Gross and David Gross, Florence, Alabama; two brothers, Joe T. Harper, Falmouth, Kentucky, and George A. Harper, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and two sisters, Mrs. Joe M. (Fannie Lou) Hayes and Mrs. Philip G. (Glenda Jane) Ball, Middlesboro, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Whitehall Funeral Chapel, Lexington, with interment in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington.
