Rubena Prewitt, 89, of Paris died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper with LaDoice Hervey officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 18, 1911, in Delta County to Marshall C. and Sarah Lenora Chapman Wheeler.
She married Al Prewitt who preceded her in death July 4, 1991. She was a clerk for the City of Dallas Water Department and a member of the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors are sons, Mark Hardy of Paris, Marshall Prewitt of Nebraska, Raymond Prewitt of Dallas, and Marion Prewitt; eight grandchildren; a sister, Glenna Runnels of Pecan Gap and several nieces and nephews, and a special cousin, Cathryn Killian. She was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Bailey and four brothers, Olan, Lloyd, Hayden and Kenneth Wheeler.
