Miss Essie Cook Dead
At 5:00 o'clock this morning, just about day break, the angel of death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Cook and took from them their oldest daughter, Miss Essie.
This sweet, young girl, not quite seventeen, has been a victim of consumption for over a year and for more than six months of the time she was confined to her room until this morning relief was given in the deep sweet slumber of death.
Miss Essie was a member of a class of twenty girls in the Methodist Sunday School and an active member as long as her health would permit, always willing to perform any duty requested, and this willingness and patiene won a host of friends who extend sincerest sympathy to the bereaved relatives. The4 members of the class will be honorary pass bearers, paying a last tribute of love and respect to their co-worker and friend".
(Essie Cook, born 30 January 1891, died 4 October 1907, buried in Oak Grove Cemetery.)"
