S SGT. GEORGE SABOLISH


The body of Staff Sergeant George Sabolish, 21, a gunner with the U.S. Air Force, who was killed in action March 22, 1945 in England, arrived in Brownsville and was removed to his home in Colonial No. 3. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sabolish, the soldier enlisted in August, 1943, at New Salem, and went overseas in May, 1944. He was killed when his plane crashed in England. A graduate of Redstone Township High School, he was a member of the championship WPIAL baseball team of 1941-1942 and played with the Colonial No. 3 baseball team. Prior to his enlistment he was employed in Buffalo, N.Y. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers and one sister. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9 o'clock Saturday morning in St. Cecelia's R. C. Church at Grindstone. Interment will be in Redstone Cemetery with military rites at the grave in charge of the Grindstone American Legion Post No. 275.
