S/SGT. RICHARD WEAVER

SCOTTDALE, July 22. - The body of Staff Sergeant Richard W. Weaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Weaver of 117 Spring Street, who was killed in action at Manston, England, arrived here Tuesday night. The soldier, born Oct. 26, 1920, was graduated from Scottdale High School with Class of 1940. He was employed by the Uptegraff Manufacturing Company prior to entering the service in August, 1942. He served with the 389th Bomber Group, 565th Bomb Squadron, Air Force. Surviving, besides his parents, are five brothers, Paul, Roy, Orville and Albert of Scottdale and Rev. Robert O. Weaver of Atlanta, Ga. The body was removed to the Murphy funeral home where the funeral service will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in charge of Reve. L. Metcalfe Miller, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial will be made in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with military rites at the grave in charge of Thomas A. Llewellyn Post No. 240, of the American Legion.
