SALINA-- Leah Lorene SIMPSON, 88, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina.
Mrs. Simpson was born March 12, 1921 in Cloud County, the daughter Enoch Jr. and Matilda (Rothfuss) Beals.
She grew up in Cloud County. She married Ralph Simpson on Sept. 24, 1940. They made their home and farmed in Cloud County near Miltonvale. She was a member of the Miltonvale Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, four sisters and one son-in-law.
Survivors include one son, Duane Simpson and wife Judy of Osage City; one daughter, Berneice Rice of Salina; one brother, Stanley Beals and wife Betty of Ochelata, Okla.; one sister, Jackie Mandrell and husband Benny of Glendale, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Nina Beals of Clay Center; one brother-in-law, Jay Kramer of Longford; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 15 at the Phelps Funeral Home, Miltonvale, with the Rev. Clyde Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Phelps Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to F.C. Hill Memorial Church (Wesleyan Church) in Miltonvale.
