Plan Rites for Mrs. Andrews
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Leora Andrews, 55, will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, May 4, at the People's Funeral home in Independence. Mrs. Andrews died Saturday afternoon, May 1, at the People's hospital here. She had been in failing health for about a year and had spent the last six months in hospitals at Vinton and Independence.
The daughter of Lester and Leora McBane Turner, she was born April 18, 1899, near Quasqueton. She was married to Lawrence Andrews on January 19, 1921, at Independence. Her entire lifetime had been spent in Buchanan county. She was a member of the Methodist church and Eastern Star.
Mrs. Andrews is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Independence, her mother, Mrs. Leora Turner of Quasqueton; three sisters, mrs. Bertha Walton of Independence, Mrs. Ona Franck of Quasqueton and Mrs. Wilda Winsor of Vinton; two brothers, Wayne Turner of Quasqueton and George Turner of Cedar Rapids; eight nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her father in 1939 and a brother, Harold in 1943.
The Rev. Edgar Walker of Vinton will officiate at funeral services and burial will be in the Quasqueton cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews. Mt. and Mrs. Bill Terry and Mr. and Mrs. Don Parrish will assist with the flowers.
