Lula Mae Skeeters Cundiff

Lula was the daughter of George Thomas Skeeters and Mollie Kate Whitworth. She had four brothers, one sister, and one half-brother. Lula married Ambrose Cundiff. She was a farmer, Methodist, Democrat, and a talented cook. Her pies were legendary. Often at the Cundiff home, she would prepare large meals for the family on Sundays when many would come to visit. She had 10 children, 32 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren. She passed away after a bout with bronchial pneumonia on 5 July 1962 at 7:15 p.m., in her home on Rural Route #1 in Cecelia. The attending physician was Dr. George Bradley, M.D. Nelson Edelen Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove handled the arrangements. Lula was buried in Howe Valley Cemetery on 8 July 1962 next to her husband. May she rest in peace.
