Mrs. Bertha Sellin Beise was born in Geiglitz, Germany, May 13, 1864, and passed away at the Nagel Hospital in Waconia on April 27 at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Beise came to America with her parents, at the age of 18 years, and made her home with them at Junction City, Kansas, and later near St. Bonifacius.
On September 18, 1888, she was united in marriage with Fred Beise, with whom she shared the experiences of home life for almost half a century. Her husband having passed away January 17, 1937, she lived the life of a widow for 16 years. To this union seven children were born of whom four preceded her in death.
At the age of 31 years, she baptized upon the confession of her faith in Christ, and accepted into the fellowship of the Minnetrista Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful and respected member until death.
She leaves to mourn, one son Albert, and two daughters Hattie and Minnie, all of Mound, besides many friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Minnetrista Baptist Church at St. Bonifacius last Thursday afternoon at two o'clock.
