Dallis Dean Blankenship, 67, of Iberia died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1940, to William Guy and Mattie Orphelia Rowden Blankenship. On March 19, 1997, he was married in Iberia to Kathy Ann Prater, who survives at the home.
Mr. Blankenship was an Army veteran of Vietnam, where he served as a medic. He was a member of Iberia Masonic Lodge No. 410, AF and AM.
Also surviving are a sister, Linda Hodge of Iberia; a stepson, Dale Whittle and wife Jamie of Iberia; a stepdaughter, Holli Robinett and husband Shannon of Brumley; two step-grandchildren, Paige and Caleb Robinett, both of Brumley; and three nephews and a niece, Cody Hodge, Chuck Hodge, Chad Hodge and Samantha Hodge, all of Iberia.
Both of his children, Dallis Dean Blankenship Jr. and Valerie Kay Blankenship, preceded him in death as did a brother, Leroy Blankenship.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg McClain officiating. Burial and military honors will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of America, 1191 Highway KK, Suite 102, Osage Beach, MO 65065.
