McHenry Greene was born near Old Salem, Ill., December 7, 1836, and has been a resident of Menard county all his life. He moved here about ten years ago, where he has since resided.
He has been afflicted with bronchitis for three or four years, and has been confined to the house the past month. The disease terminated rather suddenly, being superinduced by a combination of diseases toward the last.
He leaves a wife, four children, thirteen grandchildren ane brother, and one sister.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church at 11 o'clock Sunday conducted by the Rev. J. Lemmon. Burial at Union cemetery.
