Patrick and wife Bridget came from Mayo, Ireland with their two children Mary and John. They spent some time in Canada before coming to the Irish Settlement in Genesee, PA and had a son, James, born there. Five more children were later born in Genesee.

Their home was built in the area just north on the road going east to Town Willing, NY close to Patrick and Bridget's grandson and his wife, James D. and Eunice Kernan-O'Donnell. James D was the first born son of Daniel (Patrick's youngest son)

Patrick was sponsored by a man named Patrick Burke to come to America.
