Frankie Gaye
Birth: Nov. 15, 1941

District of Columbia
District Of Columbia, USA
Death: Dec. 28, 2001
Santa Monica

Singer, brother of Marvin Gaye. On some tours after 1973, Marvin would send Frankie onstage; fans would cheer, thinking Frankie was Marvin, then would get confused when the real Marvin appeared. After Marvin's death, Frankie's own singing career blossomed. With Kim Weston, Frankie re-recorded "It Takes Two," which Marvin and Kim had originally recorded in 1966. Shortly before his death, he completed a biography, "Marvin Gaye: My Brother." (bio by: Collins Crapo)
