Jacob Marion Lindley was the only known son and child of Jacob Marion Lindley and Elizabeth Stark Houston. He was born after his father died in 1873. He is buried next to his father. His mother is buried in Dallas in the Grove Hill Memorial Cemetery under her remarried name Spencer. She died in Los Angles, CA. In the 1880 census, Marion and his mother are living with her sister, Amanda Cameron Houston Mays in Dallas. Marion died soon after the 1880 census was taken.
The last name Lindly is spelled as Lindley by most of the family, but the tombstones have it Lindly. This tombstone and the one for his father were put up by his mother.
Bottom inscription on tombstone reads: "Beneath this stone, in sacred repose, is laid a mother's dearest pride."
On back of tombstone is inscription: Tis a little grave, but O, have care for World wide hopes are buried here."
