Truman Earl Oliver, 84, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Harlingen Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1927 in Southfield Township, MI to Truman and Rose Oliver.

Truman served with the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 in Japan and Korea as a Master Sergeant. After his military service he worked with the U.S. Border Patrol from 1954 to 1978 and then worked security at the Commanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #205 in Harlingen and of the Parkwood Memorial Bible Church also in Harlingen.

Truman is survived by his wife, Ofelia M. Oliver of Weslaco; daughter, Ann Schultz of Weslaco; sons, James O. Schultz of Weslaco and Truman E. Oliver, III of Austin, TX; daughter-in-law, Estella Schultz of La Feria; grandchildren, Steven Schultz, Amanda (George) Banda, Isaac Schultz, Lolly Schultz, Holly Schultz and Diamond Oliver; great-grandchildren, Natalie Mar-tinez, Hunter Schultz, Galvan Banda and Leandra Banda

He was preceded in death by brother, Myles S. Oliver, sons, David P. Schultz and Raymond R. Schultz and grandson, Jimmy Schultz.

A celebration of life memorial service for Truman, will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 24, 2011. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
