Joseph V. Verbugt, 2164 Central avenue, who had been ill for the past four days was taken by death at Finley hospital this morning at 1:45 o'clock.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning from the Kaiser home,512 Lincoln avenue, to Sacred Heart church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in Mt Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Verbugt was born in East Dubuque April 30, 1908, and had been employed as a salesman for the Charles H. Flanders company.
He was married on June 15, 1927, in Sacred Heart church to Miss Josephine Kaiser, who survives with his father, Hubert Verbugt, East Dubuque; four brothers, Henry and Francis, East Dubuque; Andrew and Carl, Waukesha, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Oliver and Miss Christine, East Dubuque.
Mr Verbugt was a devout Catholic and attended Sacred Heart church.

A mass of requiem was read in Sacred Heart church Saturday morning by Rev. Gerleman for Joseph V. Verbugt. A sermon was preached at the conclusion of the mass by Rev. Gerleman, who also said prayers at the graveside in Mt. Calvary cemetery,
The casket was supported by Leo Blasen, Milton Herron, Bert Lang, George Fry, Joseph Meyers and John Imhoff.
The funeral was held from the Kaiser home, 512 Lincoln avenue.
