DEATH OF EDD BREED

Passes Away at Home of His Daughter at Eaton

Edd Breed; a life long resident of Cortland county, who for the past twelve years has resided on a farm near Cheningo, died early Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Milo Shaw, at Eaton, N. Y., death following a shock which occurred two weeks before.

The deceased was born in the town of Lincklaen on March 7, 1844. and he has always lived in the vicinity of his birth.

He is survived by two sons, William of Syracuse and Calvin of Cortland, and by three daughters, Mrs. Milo Shaw of Eaton, Mrs. F. A. Dunn of Syracuse, and Miss Emma Breed of Cortland.

The funeral services will be held at Eaton on Tuesday afternoon, March 4, at 8 o'clock and the remains will be placed In the receiving vault there and will later be brought to Truxton for burial beside those of his wife who died about five years ago.

Mar. 5. – Early Saturday morning occurred the death of Edward Breed, who has for some months past been living with his daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Shaw. Mr. Breed was born in Linklean, Chenango county, on Mar. 7, 1844. Early in life he was married to Miss Ellen Graves and to them was born seven children, five of whom survive: Mrs. Milo Shaw of Eaton, William Breed and Mrs. F. A. Dunn of Syracuse and Talvin and Miss Emma Breed of Cortland; also 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He had been failing in health for some months and a few days before the last he received a shock. Mr. Breed was twice married, his first wife having died about 40 years ago. Later he married Mrs. Emma Kibbie, who died about five years since. He has since lived more or less with his children. His late home was on a farm near Truxton, where he had worked many a day, for he was a hard working man, and one with the best of morals and good qualities. He nearly always had lived in Cortland and Chenango counties. The funeral was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Milo Shaw, Rev. L. E. Squires officiating. His remains were placed in the Eaton cemetery receiving vault until good roads in the spring, when he will be moved to his home town cemetery for interment.
