Charles "Chuck" Henry Schisler, born September 2, 1931, passed away at his home in Palmdale on Monday, November 28th. Charles was born and raised in Phillipsburg, New Jersey and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. He joined the U.S. Navy shortly after High School and was honorably discharged on September 30, 1953. After the Navy, he worked in the aerospace industry, which led to a flight test career with Lockheed on the L-1011 project and later in the Skunk Works as crew chief on the SR-71 Blackbird.

He was one of two children born to the late Charles Henry and Ruth Helen (Christian) Schisler and was the beloved husband of the late Bonnie Jean (Scalia) Schisler for over 30 years. Charles will forever be remembered by his devoted son John White of Palmdale and daughter Heather L. Short of Oklahoma, David W. Schisler or Bakersfield, younger brother Clifton G. Schisler of New Jersey, grandchildren Patrick Barnett of Palmdale, Stacy Mader of Ohio, Carrie Kramer of Texas, Lisa and Stanley Short of Oklahoma, along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him. Charles loved talking about airplanes, building models, being with his family and having fun with friends.

Charles touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family were invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, December 12th at 9:30am at the Center For Spiritual Living, 1030 West Avenue L-8, Lancaster, CA 93534. Graveside services followed at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Palmdale, California.
